Parker-Tarrant Home School Sports' (PTHSS) Lady Warriors Volleyball is about to get underway for the new school year! Some
exciting changes are coming for 2009! First of all, we will adding a
middle school team. That's exciting for you young ladies in sixth
through eighth grade. Our varsity team will be playing in as many as
six tournaments, including the national tournament in Omaha, Nebraska.
With almost all of our varsity starters returning from a strong team
last year, we expect put a highly competitive team on the court this
year!
Marcia Whiting and John Miller will once again be leading our Volleyball program. Our girls will not only be challenged with improving their volleyball skills, but their character and life skills as well. The PTHSS volleyball program is for home-schooled young ladies 6th through 12th grade. (Athletes must at least 10 by Sept 1, 2008; note that players will be assessed for participation based on their physical and emotional maturity.)

Registration
Registration will be conducted on Tuesday, June 2 at our Annual PTHSS Member and Information Meeting. Details on the meeting at provided on our home page. Both returning and new players are required to fill out a Member / Athlete registration form and a medical release form. These two forms are available on our organization page or at the bottom of this page. It will speed the registration process on Tuesday night if you bring these forms already filled out.
Please note that at least one parent and the each athlete are required to read and sign a statement that they have read and agree to abide by our organization's guidelines and rules of conduct. We are in the process of making minor changes to this document; however, we recommend you read the current version prior to attending the meeting. We will have copies of the new revision on Tuesday night that highlight the changes.
We have not settled on the final player fee for volleyball this year; however, we expect it to be in the $200-300 range, with slightly less required from the middle school participants. We are asking for $100 initial payment at registration. We will determine the balance of the fee and let you know. The balance of the fee will be due prior to the first game. As always, PTHSS works to keep our player fees as low as possible. Fund raising activity may be required to offset some expenses.
Lady Warriors Volleyball Camp
The PTHSS Third Annual Warrior Volleyball Camp will be held June 8-12 at Aledo Christian School. Cost is $40 for one player, $30 for the second and $20 for any additional players. Cost includes a T-shirt and lunch on Friday. High school and middle school programs will hold separate sessions during the week as follows:
- High School (grades 9-12) will be Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Middle School (grades 6-8) will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Attire: Modest shorts and t-shirts (no tank tops or spandex). See our organizations guidelines for more details. Knee pads are helpful but not mandatory. Water bottles are also a good idea.
Practice & Game Schedule
Regular team practices will begin immediately after Warrior Volleyball Camp. The high school team will be practicing three days a week and the middle school team two days a week.

- Mondays: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Birchman Baptist Church
- Thursdays: 8:00 - 11:00 AM at Aledo Christian School
- Fridays: 8:00 - 11:00 AM at Aledo Christian School
- Middle School:
- Mondays: 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Birchman Baptist Church
- Thursdays: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Aledo Christian School
Games will be begin on August 7 with the THESA (Fort Worth) Round Robin Tournament and then continue the next week with games at Nazarene Christian and Trinity Valley. A detailed schedule is available below and on our Calendars & Schedules page.
Due to the generosity of Aledo Christian School, PTHSS home games will be played at their facility this year. Click here for directions.
